Good morning!
…or evening…
or afternoon… you know what… just… it’s morning where you are right now. I don’t care what the sun says!
So.
Gooooood Morning!
Exciting news today. We have a short story release in StoryHack Action & Adventure Magazine!
It’s a SciFi-esque story and yes, of course I have to put that -esque. Do you think I know the difference between quarks and what kind of head is on the top of a screw? There’s… flat… and… holy crap! There are 36 types of screw heads?! Nope. Nope, nope, nope.
Basically, here’s the official blurb:
The Last Contract by Dominika Lein
A futuristic hitman and his alien assistant go for one last job, but something is amiss.
Very nice. Much mystery.
Then here’s my rambled blog description:
So, it has this hitman, you see… okay, now hear me out, it is not John Wick in Space. I repeat, it is NOT John Wick in Space! Nor is it James Bond in Space, definitely not that either.
…now there’s a match-up… John and James. Wick and Bond. Making their way through the galaxies… or even better the future descendant of their bloodlines; call them Joja Bondwick.
Adventures of Joja? Hmm….
That’s basically what it isn’t.
There’s an alien assistant. If you don’t already know what that means, you probably shouldn’t read the story.
There are robots too. And pew! pew! Lasers!
Tempted, yet?
The magazine includes 8 other stories from amazing authors like Jon Mollison and JD Cowan, and I even read some of them! There’s a great range and I mean, come on, the cover has elves on it!
ELVES! Or fae… but…
Take that “no pointy ears allowed” editors out there! :P
In all seriousness, though, this magazine is great.
I recommend checking out the past issues if you haven’t already. My favorite is Issue 0 and especially Alexandru Constantin’s “A Tiger in the Garden”.
The newest issue, Issue Five, features my story inside of it (check it out, it has an illustration too! Which gives 80s comic superhero vibe, and is awesome.)
Also, I’d like to thank the editor of StoryHack, Bryce Beattie. He’s positive, consistent, and has a vision for this Magazine that is worth supporting. If you’re a writer looking to submit somewhere, I highly recommend StoryHack, if and when they open up again. If you’re a reader, I recommend reading the magazine, if that wasn’t obvious!
( U w U)
Alright, that’s enough from me.
Here is the Kindle Link for Issue Five that has my SciFi short, The Last Contract, in it:
